Venturing Sports Bronze Award

The Sports Bronze Award lets Venturers focus on learning about fitness and sports. Earning at least one Venturing Bronze Award is required for the Venturing Gold Award. The Venturing Bronze Award is designed as the first tier in the advancement track for Venturers so they can acquire usable skills that will carry them along the trail to the Venturing Silver Award.

By earning this award, Venturers can learn about fitness, sports safety, and sportsmanship. This award especially fits in well with sports teams which have chartered as Venture Crews.

 

What is Good Sportsmanship?  Scouting and sports go together. Many recognitions require that the Scout discuss sportsmanship. So what does good sportsmanship mean?

 

BSA Methods - Teaching Others  The methods of Scouting are the ways that Scouting's aims of developing character, citizenship, and fitness in youth are achieved. One of the methods for Venturers is “teaching others”. Teaching others is the best way to really acquire deep knowledge of an area. By sharing their skills with others, Venturers retain their knowledge better and provide service to others
