Cub Scout Core Values - Honesty
Honesty is telling the truth and being worthy of trust. The August Pack Meeting Tips from BSA remind us "A Scout is honest. As boys have fun and interact in their den and pack, they learn that honesty can simply be defined as a refusal to lie, cheat, or steal in any way. Honesty is simply the truth."

Ideas for August Pack Meeting – Honesty The core value for Cub Scouts for the month of August is Honesty. According to the program helps honest is:
Telling the truth and being worthy of trust. A Scout is honest. As boys have fun and interact in their den and pack, they learn that honesty can simply be defined as a refusal to lie, cheat, or steal in any way. Honesty is simply the truth.
BSA Wolf Den Meeting 1 - Bobcat and Your Flag BSA provides den meeting plans for den leader on the Scouting.org website. Today, I am going to go through the first Wolf plan. This plan covers Bobcat and part of Wolf Achievement 2 - Your Flag. If you don't have any new Cub Scouts in your den, then nobody needs to earn Bobcat, but it doesn't hurt to review the material anyway.
Tiger Den Meeting Plan – Bobcat Badge When a new Tiger den is formed, the first advancement step is for them to earn their Bobcat badge. This den meeting plan also throws in plenty of fun
Scoutmaster Minute - Honesty Honesty is an important virtue. This brief inspirational thought can be used as a Scoutmaster minute to remind Scouts that it is better to be honest from the start than to try to cover our mistakes by shading the truth.
Cub Scout Gathering Activity - Core Values Crossword Puzzle This is a crossword puzzle I made for a gathering activity for a den meeting. It's purpose is just to familiarize the Cub Scout with the 12 core values
Tell It Like It Isn’t Game Every now and then people will contact me with a question about how I did this requirement or that. One question I have received a few times is "What are the rules for Tell It Like It Isn't for Tiger Achievement 4?" The instructions can be found in the Tiger handbook, but I think sometimes as den leaders we look at something and think it must be more complicated. Tell It Like It Isn't is the game most of us know as Telephone. Yes, it really is that simple.
Four Facts Game This is an icebreaker game. It would also work well with any activity relating to personal history or storytelling. I think it could also be worked into a discussion about honesty.
Show Me the Truth Game Let's be honest. Some of the Cub Scout requirements which are all talking can be tough to do with a group of restless boys. Sometimes when I am looking at a requirement and I see the words Character Connection, my first instinct is to sigh. But then I take a deep breath and remember that playing a game can make it fun.
